Working with CYJS

Working at CYJS means being part of a hard-working team that cares deeply about making a difference. We set high standards, roll up our sleeves and support one another to get meaningful work done. We value collaboration, diverse perspectives and new ideas, and we learn from challenges and celebrate successes together. Whatever your role, you’ll have opportunities to grow, contribute your strengths and help create positive possibilities for young people and communities.

Our Culture

We believe in what’s strong. Not just words, a way of being that shapes how we support young people and how we work together. At CYJS, we build meaningful relationships, value different perspectives, learn from one another and pursue excellence together, creating a healthy team and a positive culture where people and possibilities can thrive.

The Land We Call Home

The Centre for Youth Justice and Success acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional territories covered by Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10, and on the ancestral lands of many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. We honour the enduring presence and contributions of the Niitsitapi, Tsuut’ina, Îyârhe Nakoda, Nêhiyawak, Dene, Denesųłiné, Dane-zaa, Saulteaux, Anishinaabe, Nakota, and other Indigenous Nations across Alberta. We also recognize the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and Métis communities throughout the province. We are committed to reconciliation through respect, partnership, and meaningful action.

As an organization, we are committed to advancing reconciliation by building respectful relationships, embracing Indigenous ways of knowing, and supporting equitable and restorative approaches that strengthen Indigenous youth, families, and communities.
